Back in Japan

This is Hiroki!

It has been 5 days since we came back to Japan.

There are about 14 hours difference in between St. Louis and Japan, so my jet lag is getting better but I'm still having some problem with it...lol

Anyway, I would like to look over our time in UMSL.

First of all, I am sure that all of us improved our English skills.

Even for the people who already had good English, going through business course in English and writing business plan were new so it was a good experience.

To add on, I thought if we had some basic knowledge of what the business plan is in Japanese, we could have done some more study in depth.

We found many new friends there, and the best part of UMSL is that those people who we met there, are coming to Rikkyo in about a week!!!

Since they helped us a lot, it will be our turn to host them around our campus.

EAP was fun!!! And it will be FUN!!!

Last day...

This is Hiroki

Sadly, this will be the last blog which we will post from UMSL.

25 days has past since we first came here, and it was so fast.

Our last day started a little later than what we used to.

We filled out some survey about our trip first thing in the morning!

This got me think back about what we did this 3 week.

More than anything, we had so FUN!!!

We can never thank enough to all the assistants who helped us.

We are going to leave our dorm and head to the airport in about 1 hour...

There aren't many things which we can do left, but we will make sure that our trip will be the excellent trip til the last minute.

Lastly, I want to say THANK YOU to all the member in Team -A-

Eri, Mao, Shiori, Miyuki and Shunsuke.
I was able to enjoy my EAP 120% because of them!!!

I feel so lucky that I was in the same group with them.

So, we are going back to Japan.

THANK YOU SO MUCH UMSL!!!

Pizza Company -Field Trip-

Hiroki again!

Today, we only had 1 lesson in the morning.
Group D and E had their presentation practise done!
Actually, we (Group A) didn't have anything to do this morning!lol

Anyway,
After that we went for the field trip!!!

We went to the pizza company!

I was going to write about this field trip, but since we have our final presentation tomorrow morning, I have to do the last minute meeting.

I'll try and update the blog tomorrow!

six flags

Hi everyone. Eri is writing today.





yesterday, we went to Six Flags in St.Louis.
i didnt go to the water sliders and the pool. i rode lots of scary rollercoasters.
my favorite one is called the Boss. it is wooden rollercoaster so that it shaked badly. since i knocked my head againdt the back seats and side bars many times, i had a headache afterall.

for dinner, we went to the buffet restaurant.
was yum.
there was one chocolate fountain for dessert.
i put chocolate on my strawberries then i found out that plain fresh strawberries are better.

anyway, we had a good day and we were all full in the end of the day.

tomorrow, we will finally record our business plan presentation.
a little bit nervous but excited too.

Hi!!

I'm Mao again.

Today we went to six flags

and had a lot of fun!!

First, I was afraid of high places...

However, the experience at the Arch

made me overcome it so I enjoyed

most of the rides without fear:)

The roller coaster was so amusing!!

Also, the pool was fun but because

the time we went swimming was bad,

it was so cold that we got out soon...

After playing in six flags,

we went to a restaurant called

Emperor's Palace.

The food I ate was all good!!

Especially, the Vietnam noodles

were so delicious that I ate

2 bowls of it with Akihiro:)

We only have a limited time so

I'll enjoy the rest of my time!!

6 FLAG!!!

HIROKI again!!!

As I mentioned in yesterday's post, we went to the 6 Flag today!

We left our dorm at 9:30 and spent about 7 hours.

The group which I went around together rode ALL the roller coasters in 6 Flag St. Louis.

There are theme park and water park, but my group stayed in the theme park all day long.

To add on, there is TV program called "The Best House" which introduce the Top 3 ranking of many series.

One of the roller coaster in 6 Flag was actually in the top 3 of the most crazy roller coaster in the world!!!

Anyway, by the time we went home, our feet were shaking since we rode 12 roller coaster in a day! lol

On the way home, we stopped at the "Emperor's Palace"

It is the restaurant which we can eat food from every Asian countries.

I ate Sushi.

It wasn't the best Sushi I ever had, but since I haven't eaten Japanese food for ages, it tasted awesome! lol

It was a CRAZY DAY!!!

Tomorrow, we are going to the field trip!

I heard it was the Pizza company, so I will definitely get one!

baseball

Hi, I'm Shunsuke

Today,we enjoyed baseball.

I realized I'm not good at baseball.But,it was fun.

Everybody enjoyed playing.

After the baseball,I went to gym with Ryunosuke.

I rode a earobike and did some work out.

By the way,we finished our business plan.

So,I am going to prepare for presentation.

I want to enjoy our presentation.

City Museum and Baseball Game!!!

Just to let you know, Team A have finished our business plan!!!!!!

This is HIROKI!!!

Yesterday, we went to the CITY MUSEUM!

if I am to describe that place in one word, it is CRAZY.

Huge slide which goes down from the 10th floor of the building,
Cave system which goes everywhere inside the floor,
school bus which is half stocked out from the roof,
ball pool,

and everything crazy.

The picture is me jumping into the ball pool! lol

anyway, we all felt so young while we were there!!!

IT IS THE BEST PLACE IN ST. LOUIS

next,,,

Today, we played baseball!!!

most of us came down to the field, and we played for about 2 hours.

In St. Louis, the sun does not set until like 9 o'clock.

so we were able to play until quite late!

I'm the one wearing a red Cardinals hat in the picture!!! lol

Lastly, we only have 1 week left here in UMSL...

we still have 1 big presentation coming up this week,

but basically, this week is all about having FUN!!!

tomorrow, we will go to 6 flags!!!

so,,, need to sleep! lol

It had been cool and rainy for a couple of days here, but today was hot!!!!!!!!!
So, I was sooooooooo happy!
We went to be pool after school!

Since we will have to hand in our business plan tomorrow,

all of the UMSL members are working hard now!

Field trip

Hi!!
This is Mao posting for the second time.

Yesterday, we had dinner with some entrepreneurs.
We asked lots questions relating to their business.

Today we didn't have our business class
in the afternoon but instead of that,
we went on a field trip with our teachers.

We visited 2 places and listened to some talk
about their business and asked some questions.

Now we are making a business plan and the exerience
I had today and yesterday was very helpful for me.

I'm responsible for my teams financial plans but
its so difficult that I have been working for this
about 3hours a day and it makes me sick...

I hope I could get along this well!!




We're busy having many assignments to do,
however, we're still enjoying our life here
doing fun and stupid things all together;)




Now I'll have to go back to my work.

Today,we went to gateway arch.
We had a good time.

After,we went to gateway arch, we had a lunch.

Then,some people went to hard rock cafe,but I didn't go.

Finaly,I went back to dorm.

Dinner was Pizza,I liked it.

After the dinner,I went running with Yuuki.

I'm feeling good.

today, it is a SUNDAY which means.... NO CLASSES!

We went to see the gateway arch today which is located in St.Louis, along the Mississippi river. We were surprised at the height of the arch at first. It was way too high but we could see the top of the arch though it was cloudy in this morning.

So, if you dont know about what it is, here is the little piece of basic information about the Gateway Arch for you =] ❤

The St.Louis Gateway Arch is an elegant monument and as well as a symbol of the westward expansion. It was desingned by Eero Saarinen and Hannskarl Bandel in 1947. It stands 190m tall and is 190m wide at its base, making it the tallest monument in the US. The construction was completed on October 28, 1965. This arch is absolutely the tallest monument in Mirrouri, 7 feet higher than One Kansas City Place in Kansas City, and 37 feet higher than the roof of Metropolitan Square in St.Louis, MO.

Ok, so after we got there, we took a tram car to go to the top of the building so that we could see the inside of the arch side and the entire scenery! It was kind of scary! =P

After we came back from the short journey to the top, we went to the lunch place called The Old Spagetti Factory. Well, needless to say, we had enough foods there.

After lunch, some went back to the dorm but I went to the Union Station. Nearby the Union Station, there is a small shopping place. We just looked through some stores and finally found the space to rest then everyone fell asleep at the end. :)

Today, I am pretty sure that we will be staying up late due to the business homework though my team stayed up late last night too. Hope it doesnt take long beucase we have classes tomorrow as usual. But I like this group project though it is kind of hard.

Its been about 12 days since we got here in MO. which means, we have spent half of stay here already. This makes me feel like I have to have more fun and enojoy the rest of days here with a lot of american foods and with a little bit of works on the project. HAHA hope Mr.Donnovan understands that I am kidding. =]

Hope everything is going well for everyone in AUS and Canada! =]

How's it going? 

I am Miyuki. This is my first turn!

 

It was free day today! So, everyone enjoyed shopping, swimming, sleeping, studying(?)... or something.

I had slept in the mornig because I was so tired. 

I went to the loop in the afternoon, and bought two postcards and some gifts for my friends!

I ate sandwich for lunch. But it was almost 3o'clock...

 

I liked it very much!!!! I wanna eat it again.

(I wonder why there is a lot of French fries with big sandwich.)

After dinner, I went to WAL-MART.

It was so huge supermaeket. We connot see all of things in the store. It was kind of fun.

I bought cookies, some foods and backpack. (Because I have so many baggage.)

I got tired and want to sleep right now! Now!

Therefore my first blog is short. Sorry.

We are to go and see Arch tomorrow(it is already "Today").

today was a group work day.

but we all had good holiday!

some went to Galleria, a great shoping mall.

they seemed that they had good time:)

Nao, Ryunosuke, Takeshi, Anthony, and me went to Delmar loop,and ate korean foods at korean restaurnt. it was soooo great!

after that, we went to Target by Anthony's car!

and we bought three goggles and a snorkel for using at a swimming pool:)

a snorkel was great because I could feel as if I was in the sea:)

my face is so funny, isn't it?:)haha

now we are working for our business plan.

I'll do my best!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Our lovely classes!!!

What's up dude!!!

This is Hiroki.

I've just thought that we have never spoke about our classes, so I want to write about our our "normal" life for today's entry.

We usually have 3 classes in a day.

We leave our dorm around 8:45 to walk or to take a metro to go to our university!

First, we take English lesson!

This class is kind of fun because the teacher tries so hard to make us talk English more frequentry.

She even brought a sweets today, so that whoever asked questions during the class can get to eat them.

She is such a GOOD student that she asked question in a class and got her tong all in blue.

Same thing goes to Shunsuke...but in his case, it's was green. lol

Next, we have Ron's class. He is a funny teacher who calls himself Hiroshi.

We basically talk about our business plan in his class, and he and the students assistants help us with that.

Anyway, this is Shunsuke...don't know what he is up to, but it was in Ron's class today.lol

I really love Team A because they just start doing funny things without any reason.

They are so open-minded which makes us comfortable atmosphere.

After eating lunch, we go to our last class. I think this is the most important class in UMSL because in this class, we learn about our business plan.

The English level is a little harder than the other 2 we have in the morning, but it is really interesting subject to learn. Especially if you are a business student.

Also, this class has more serious atmosphere compared to the other 2, so I don't have any funny pictures of it like I posted each for the others.

So, we are taking fun and interesting lessons everyday, and I hope that our business plan turns out to be a good one!!!

soccer and pool party!!

today is my turn, Eri's turn!

today we had 3 claesses as usual. after the classes, we played soccer together!!

we actually were going to go soccer field but we couldnt find it so that we just played on the grasses. we had sooooooo much fun today playing soccer together.

after playing soccer, we went to the POOL PARTYYYYYY!!!!!!! =P

there were lots of foods there, cookies, cakes, hotdogs, chips, fruits and all that kind of stuffs. we enjoyed the meal and talk with people there. =] then we jumped in the water and enjoyed water polo. we also did so many silly things like a race of dog scroll. it was just a blast.

i had been there until it got dark with takeshi, nao, shioriK, Aki and Isao. it was kind

a chilly outside. we went back to the dorm and did HW and had a team discussion to get ready for the commercial we are going to present tomorrow.

this is about what happened this afternoon. well its already midnight so i think it is time to go bed and i have to stop writing.

We had a really good time. Host father was always talking about weather.

it was a really hot day. Host family loves pool.

Also we could use a nice gyms. I and Ryu were training hard.

Second day,
We woke up at 12:30...lol

went to watch Harry Potter...but it wasnt as I expected

Anyway, we had so FUN!!!

Our day started with this amazin breakfast...lol

yesterday we had this really heavy hamburger and today, it was serial.

don get this difference.

Anyway, it was our first lesson.

we got on the metro and went to the class.

2 lessons in the morning and 1 at the afternoon.

It was after lunch when the problem happened...

All of us EXCEPT him went on the bus to go to our last class.

sadly the bus left while he was at the TOILET

we can only laugh. thats it.

He came into the class 45mins late

First post!!

Hi!!

This is Mao writing from UMSL teamA.

We arrived at St.Louis yesterday.

Today we had orientation for classes

and ate lunch at the MSC in UMSL.

After lunch, half of the members

went to the supermarket and bought

lots of food and snack to eat!!

We bought so much so I think

we'll put on weight than now...

By the way,

the students and teachers are nice and friendly,

and planning a lot for us to enjoy this program !!

I'm sure that we're going to have a wonderful time here:)
